Speaking generally, it is considered a gift of power from God.
More specifically, worthy members of the Church can receive that gift of power through ordinances in the temple that give them instruction about God’s plan for His children on earth, covenants to honor that define the “strait and narrow path,” and symbolic Priesthood rites - all of which are important parts of achieving exaltation through the grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
