Jesus DID start a church. Although Christians disagree about what Jesus meant when he told Peter that He would build His church upon “this rock,” Christians rarely disagree about the fact that Jesus started a church, namely THE Church of Jesus Christ.
And not all Christians wear crosses. Some prefer to focus their devotions on the living Christ rather than the dying Christ.
But in any case, we don’t have to mimic things that Jesus did and didn’t do to be Christlike. What makes a person Christlike is their devotion to doing the will of God and their love of God and their fellow man.
